Program Areas
At LESM, we offer a continuum of services for at-risk families and children. We use a Transformative Case Management approach to service. Using this comprehensive and holistic approach, we work to help our clients access and acquire the skills and resources needed to transform their lives.
Specifically, the Transformative Case Management Approach:
- Assists clients in identifying their own needs and issues of concern.
- Focuses clients on addressing long and short term needs.
- Promotes the significant involvement of clients in the development and implementation of their own recovery plans.
- Empowers clients to identify and access programs, services and resources in a coordinated and efficient manner.
The following is a list of programs and services we offer:
- Disaster Preparedness, Relief and Recovery
- Children’s Education Enrichment Services
- Restorative Justice
Disaster Preparedness, Response and Recovery
LESM offers a vast array of services for families whose lives and communities have been devastated by disasters. Through our network of partners and with the help of volunteers, LESM’s staff works to prepare for, respond to, and recover from the impact of disasters.
Since August 2005, LESM has been involved in relief and recovery efforts on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. After Hurricane Katrina, LESM was one of the first disaster response teams deployed. Immediately after the storm, we opened six relief centers. Today, these relief services have been transitioned to volunteer, case and construction management recovery services located at Camp Victor, Ocean Springs; Camp Coast Care, Pass Christian; and Mission on the Bay, Bay, St. Louis.
